Stomping on bugs for the Fawn

March 12th, 2007

Yuriy Kozlov posted last week an invitation to bug triaging for the Kubuntu Desktop. Kubuntu 7.04, lovingly called Feisty Fawn, is due to be released in a month’s time. Now’s the perfect time for users to give a hand in helping make Feisty a solid and stable release. We can help by doing some Bug Triaging for Kubuntu.

Triaging is basically the process of sifting through dozens of bug reports, trying to sort them out or providing more information so that developers could better work on them. Old bugs, unconfirmed bugs, duplicate bugs, cryptic bugs. We wade through them and try to make sense of them all. And you don’t even need to be a programmer. All you need is some time, some effort, and, of course, an updated Kubuntu Feisty system. This is an excellent way for non-developers to contribute to Kubuntu. So get your system started and let’s stomp on some bugs!

For more information, have a glance at the Kubuntu Team Bugs page or meet us up at #ubuntu-bugs or #ubuntu+1 over at irc.ubuntu.com (using your favorite IRC client, of course).

Hopefully, I’ll be able to get around my own bug in the new Kubuntu dist-upgrade tool so that I could join the ranks of the feisty.

Oh, and of course the customary greeting: “Hello Planet Ubuntu!”
